Finished Wolf for the LRR assignment. I was wanting the wolf to have no line art left on it, but it looked so much better with it left in.
A robotic drone I designed for my LRR assignment. Not an essential component, but an idea that i quickly painted when i was bored of drawing mountains. they are called Flitters.
An autonomous robotic drone aircraft, they are used by the mega-cities for surveillance rescue and repair in dangerous climates or areas. Having the ability to take off and land vertically as well as able to climb virtually any surface, the drones are used most often to survey the surrounding areas of the cities to look for wolves, Find lost citizens who strayed too far out, or to repair parts of the city when human labourers would be inappropriate. They are the equivalent of UAV’s that are used to patrol shark beaches today or tomorrow.

These development sketches are for an environment assignment that is part of the Little Red Riding-hood meta-assignment. I was using these to get an idea of my character’s environment and setting, as well as the composition of the final piece.
After an in depth and extremely helpful discussion with one of my friends, I resulted in the following back story:
The the setting is a mountainous desert region (probably earth, but unspecified and unimportant) where mega cities have been built. These take the form of massive pyramids that house their entire populations in a self sustaining ecosystem. Coated in a glossy, smooth black material, it insulates the cities form the extreme cold and temperature change of the region Where as many decades ago agriculture and industry was attempted on the land, the combination of arid conditions, harsh climate, and adapting local predators lead to its abandonment. These days most people rarely stray more than a kilometer from the cities, remaining literally in their shadow.
